This discussion will assist your organization in understanding innovative reimbursement mechanisms that are developing as a result of health care reform. Many new reimbursement structures are being developed, implemented and evaluated as health care moves from payment based upon volume, to payment based upon value. We will discuss these structures, how they are working, how they can be improved and the keys to making them work for your organization. National trends in payor/provider relationships will also be discussed as well as what to expect for the near future. Lastly, we will outline managed care payor strategies that could be part of your next negotiation.
The relationship between a hospital or health care system and its physicians is a lynchpin to profitability. When the physician-hospital relationship is strong physicians admit and refer more patients, cooperate in reducing the length of stay and readmission rate and take a more active role in achieving meaningful use of E H R. Barriers to these and other paths to profitability often result from poor physician-hospital relationships. This webinar will review the importance of building strong relationships and discuss specific examples of how to build a committed, loyal and productive Medical Staff.
