Access to Care
Government should be responsible for those least able to afford health
care on their own: older Americans and poor Americans. But its
not enough to provide an insurance product as government does now through
Medicare and Medicaid. In order to keep the balance; government must
pay at least the cost of the care to the providers of that care. Maines
access goals must be focused on both access to affordable coverage as
well as perserving rational geograpical access to health care services. Legislation
