Associated Health Resources, Inc.

Associated Health Resources Board

Associated Health Resources, Inc.

Associated Health Resources, Inc. (AHR), a wholly-owned for-profit entity of MHA, was created in 1992 to provide MHA member hospitals, hospital-affiliated long-term care facilities and employees across the state with access to a wide range of products and services at reduced costs.

Biomedical Waste Treatment
The first statewide facility for treatment and disposal of biomedical waste is now operational. This state-of-the-art facility uses environmentally friendly steam sterilizers and an industrial shredder to sterilize medical waste and render it unrecognizable and suitable for landfill. Services are available to non-hospital genrators. Contact: Kyle Paquin, Operating Manager, Maine Waste Facility, Pittsfield, ME, phone: 207-487-5300, fax: 207-487-5333.

Another case study shows how the group helped Penobscot Bay Medical Center. Mercy Hospital used NHG to improve their accounts receivable.
