NMMC CEO Is New MHA Chair

(June 21, 2017, Rockport, Maine)—-Northern Maine Medical Center Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Peter Sirois was installed as chair of the Maine Hospital Association Board of Directors on Wednesday, June 21, at the Association’s annual Summer Forum at the Samoset Resort in Rockport. 
 
Sirois succeeds outgoing chair Chuck Hays, president and CEO of MaineGeneral Health who becomes the immediate past chair.  Charles Therrien, president of Mercy Hospital in Portland, becomes the chair-elect.  R. David Frum, president of Bridgton and Rumford hospitals, becomes board treasurer.  John Ronan, CEO of Blue Hill Memorial and Maine Coast Memorial hospitals, becomes secretary of the board.
 
Joining the board are Daniel Coffey, president and CEO of Acadia Hospital in Bangor, as chair of the Mental Health Council; Lugene Inzana, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Maine Medical Center in Portland, as chair of the Healthcare Finance Council; Rodney Boula, CEO of Calais Regional Hospital; William Caron, president of MaineHealth; Mark Fourre, CEO of Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport and Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast; and Dennis Welsh, CEO at Down East Community Hospital.
 
Sirois began his career at Northern Maine Medical Center (NMMC) in Fort Kent in 1981.  He has been CEO since 2012.  During his career he has also worked as associate administrator at NMMC; administrator of the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough; administrator of Borderview Manor in Van Buren; controller for NMMC; and credit manager for Romeo Roy, Inc. in Upper Frenchville.
 
Sirois is a trained paramedic, registered Maine Guide and a Maine Notary Public.  He has been a licensed Maine Nursing Home Administrator since 1990.
